# How to Browse and Discover Content on the Platform

> Explore the home screen, search titles, filter by genre or format, save favorites to your watchlist, and get smarter recommendations.

The platform is designed to help you find something you'll love as quickly as possible, whether you already know what you want to watch or you're open to discovering something new. From a curated home screen to powerful search filters, every tool you need to navigate thousands of titles is a tap or click away.

## Getting Around the Platform

<Steps>
  <Step title="Explore the Home Screen">
    When you sign in, you land on your personalized **Home** screen. It's divided into rows of content, each with a specific purpose:

    <CardGroup cols={2}>
      <Card title="Continue Watching" icon="play">
        Titles you've started but haven't finished appear here, always resuming from exactly where you left off.
      </Card>

      <Card title="Recommended for You" icon="stars">
        A dynamically updated row of titles the platform thinks you'll enjoy, based on your watch history and genre preferences.
      </Card>

      <Card title="Trending Now" icon="chart-line">
        The most-watched titles across the entire platform right now — a great place to catch what everyone is talking about.
      </Card>

      <Card title="New Releases" icon="sparkles">
        Films, series, and live events added in the last 30 days, sorted by release date with the newest at the front.
      </Card>
    </CardGroup>

    Scroll down to see additional rows curated around genres, franchise collections, and seasonal themes. Each row is horizontally scrollable — click the arrow at the right edge or swipe on touch devices to see more titles.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Search for a Specific Title">
    Click the **magnifying glass** icon in the top navigation bar (or press `/` on a keyboard) to open the search panel.

    * **Start typing** and results appear instantly — no need to press Enter.
    * Results include movies, series, episodes, genres, and cast members.
    * Click a cast member's name to see all titles featuring that person.
    * Use the **filter chips** below the search bar to narrow results by type: **Movies**, **Series**, or **Live**.

    <Tip>
      Can't remember the exact title? Search by actor, director, or even a plot keyword. For example, searching "heist" returns every crime and thriller title in our catalogue that matches that theme.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Browse by Category or Genre">
    Select **Browse** in the main navigation to open the full catalogue view. From here you can:

    1. Click any **genre tile** (Action, Comedy, Drama, Horror, Documentary, Kids, Sport, etc.) to see all matching titles.
    2. Use the **Sort by** dropdown to order results by *Newest*, *Most Popular*, *Top Rated*, or *A–Z*.
    3. Apply one or more **filter tags** to combine criteria — for example, *Drama + Top Rated + Series* shows only highly rated drama series.

    <Note>
      Genre pages update automatically as new content is added. Bookmarking a genre page in your browser is a handy way to check back for new arrivals in your favourite categories.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Filter Content by Type">
    Use the **content-type tabs** at the top of the Browse page to switch between format views:

    <CardGroup cols={3}>
      <Card title="Movies" icon="film">
        Feature-length films only, including theatrical releases, originals, and documentaries.
      </Card>

      <Card title="Series" icon="tv">
        TV shows and mini-series, with season and episode breakdowns on every title page.
      </Card>

      <Card title="Live" icon="signal-stream">
        Live sports, news broadcasts, concerts, and special events streaming in real time.
      </Card>
    </CardGroup>

    You can combine a content-type tab with any genre and sort option for precise results.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save Titles to Your Watchlist">
    Found something you want to watch later? Add it to your **Watchlist** so it's always easy to find.

    * **On a title card** — hover over it (or long-press on mobile) and click the **+ Watchlist** button.
    * **On a title detail page** — click the **+ Add to Watchlist** button below the title's hero image.
    * **Remove a title** — click the checkmark icon (✓) that replaces the + button once a title is saved.

    Access your full Watchlist anytime by clicking **My List** in the main navigation or your profile menu.

    <Tip>
      Your Watchlist syncs across every device on your account in real time, so titles you save on your phone will be waiting for you when you open the app on your TV.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Discover Content Through Recommendations">
    The platform's recommendation engine improves the more you watch. You can actively shape your recommendations in several ways:

    1. **Rate titles** — click the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon on any title card or detail page. Thumbs up means "show me more like this"; thumbs down means "not for me."
    2. **Update genre preferences** — go to **Account Settings → Profile → Interests** and adjust your selected genres at any time.
    3. **Hide titles you've already seen** — click the three-dot menu (**⋯**) on any title card and select **Mark as Watched** to remove it from recommendation rows.
    4. **Manage watch history** — visit **Account Settings → Privacy → Watch History** to delete specific entries or clear your full history, which resets your recommendations to a clean slate.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Understanding Content Badges and Labels

Title cards display small badges that give you at-a-glance information before you click through.

<Accordion title="What do the coloured badges on title cards mean?">
  * **NEW** (orange) — added to the platform within the last 7 days.
  * **TOP 10** (red) — currently in the top 10 most-watched titles on the platform.
  * **LIVE** (pulsing dot) — this event is streaming right now.
  * **EXPIRING SOON** (yellow) — this title will be removed from the platform within 14 days.
  * **ORIGINAL** (logo badge) — produced exclusively for this platform and unavailable anywhere else.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="What do the age-rating labels mean?">
  Every title displays a content rating (e.g. U, PG, 12, 15, 18 or TV-G, TV-14, TV-MA depending on your region). These follow the official classifications from your country's ratings board. If you've set a maximum rating in your profile, titles above that threshold are hidden from your browse view automatically.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="How do I find content available in 4K or with audio descriptions?">
  Use the **Advanced Filters** panel on the Browse page (click **More filters**) to filter by:

  * **Resolution**: HD, 4K Ultra HD
  * **Accessibility**: Audio Description, Subtitles, Sign Language
  * **Audio**: Dolby Atmos, Stereo

  Results will show only titles that match your selected technical specifications.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Can I browse content without being signed in?">
  You can view the catalogue and read title descriptions without an account, but you cannot play any content, save to a Watchlist, or receive personalised recommendations until you [create an account](/getting-started/create-account) and sign in.
</Accordion>
